Noah Taylor has been making wine in California and elsewhere for 32 years. In 1977 the Taylor family planted a 10 acre vineyard on an abandoned 1870's farm that they purchased near the town of Livermore, CA. They sold their first commercial crop sold to Wente Brothers Winery. In 1983 they decided to produce commercial volumes of wine and open a tasting room and winery. By 1984 they founded Retzlaff Vineyards, one of only five wineries in the Livermore Valley at the time.

Noah and his father Robert Taylor currently oversee Retzlaff Vineyards which produces about 4,000 cases a year of estate red and white wines, including Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In addition Noah manages his own brand called Noah's Zinfandel.

During his career Noah has also made wine in France and New Zealand. In 1993 he the worked the vintage at Chateau Jabertie in the Montbazillac region producing 20,000 cases of red, white and dessert wines. When he returned to California in 1994 he took over the wine production at Retzlaff Vineyards.

In 1997 he launched the Noah's brand Zinfandel which was very well received. After working a vintage in New Zealand in 1998, Noah moved to Yountville in Napa Valley, California to start Noah Vineyards. Noah Vineyards produced vineyard designate wines of exceptional quality from the Napa Valley region and beyond. He has recently returned to Retzlaff in order to continue the family business and tradition of making high end estate wines.
