Open: Year Round
The 1st American Indian Owned and Operated Winery in the United States ... Started by Darlene Gabbard, a native of North Carolina and a member of the Lumbee Tribe of Southeast North Carolina, owns and operates the winery along with her husband Nick, and daughters Victoria and Dana. The winery is located on the family's land in Lexington, North Carolina, which was the home of the Keyauwee Indians.
The winery is located on 36 beautiful acres of rolling pasture and woodlands. Bordered by Highway NC 150 ( the Old Waxhaw Indian Trading Trail ), and Indian Grave Creek, where it is legended that Ancient Tribes buried their dead in the banks of the stream. Arrow and Spear Heads can still be found when working the soil ...
Native Vines has been producing wines since 1998. We also offer an exceptional line of vinifera wines as well as a line of Sweet Fruit and Specialty Tea Wines
The tasting room is located in the Old Tack room of a 5000 square foot stable, with the original brick paved floors, and still houses a couple horses. The farm is a lovely retreat and a little step back in time from the fast-paced life that consumes us all. We offer a family friendly environment, so whether you enjoy sitting on the veranda with a wonderful wine, strolling thru the vineyard for a romantic moment or feeding horses apples with your kids, you'll find it here.
