Murrysville Community Park is currently open to the public with four (4) athletic fields. Two (2) multi use fields and two (2) baseball/softball fields were put in use the spring of 2007. Completion of a third multi-use field that will be used in the fall of 2009 will allow field to get put into a rotation for better turf. MCP now has tot-lots and a pavilion that will be ADA accessible from the parking lot. Through the efforts of several volunteers there is now a completed walking trail. The Valley Hiking Trail is 1.5 miles long and winds from the Sears house on Wiestertown Road through woods, clearings, down into the lowest part of the valley, over tributaries of Steels Run and to the high plateau with a view of the ball fields below and wooded hills in the distance.
"Paws on the Run", the dog park at Murrysville Community Park (off Farm Road), will be open in April 2010. The dog park is a secured, fenced-in area for dogs to socialize. There is a section for large dogs and a section for small dogs. "Paws on the Run" was made possible through a donation from the Brooks Family of Murrysville. Miracle Field will add a new dimension to M.C.P. with a surface ready for play by those in wheelchairs. Seniors will also enjoy bocce and shuffleboard on this field.
