About
History
Tim Moylan Tranquility Iceplex opened its doors in November of 1995. It was built under a unique private-public partnership agreement with the City of Omaha. The City of Omaha provided the land and the developer, Tim Moylan financed the cost of the rink. When it was first built it was known as South Pacific Tranquility Iceplex. The name was later changed to Tim Moylan Tranquility Iceplex, by the Omaha City Council, in honor of Tim due to his tragic death in August of 1996. Tim and his daughter Jenni drowned off the coast of Mexico while on a family vacation.
Moylan Iceplex boasts an NHL sized sheet of ice as well as an Olympic sized ice sheet. The Olympic rink is 15 feet wider than a standard NHL rink and is the only one in the state. We are the home rink of Omaha Hockey Club and the Nxt Level Hockey Academy. We also provide ice to Moylan Premier Skating Club and Blade and Edge Skating Club, two figure skating associations. In addition, we offer over 1,500 hours of public skating time to the general public. Our mission is to provide the residents of Omaha and surrounding areas with a safe, fun, and clean ice rink at a reasonable cost.
