Chesterfield was named a Top 10 Town by Missouri Life Magazine in 2011 for cities with a population between 2,500 to 50,000. The criteria was based on having favorable data in education, crime and unemployment statistics. Next they included an evaluation of the town's quality of life including amenities available to residents such as health care, restaurants, libraries, theaters, performing arts, parks, trails and religious denominations, and also considered infrastructure such as recycling programs, sales taxes, household income and air quality. Additionally, Chesterfield was name a Creative Community by the Missouri Arts Council in 2011.
