Open: Year-round
Fine wine doesn't need to be made on rolling hills and lush vineyards. In fact, before Prohibition, much of the wine sold in the United States was made in warehouses in and around major cities like New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Those facilities were forced to close back in the early 1900s. When winemaking returned after Prohibition, the idea of expansive vineyards became increasingly popular. Life has a way of running in cycles though, and urban wineries are popping up across the United States. Some of the resurgence is a response to a growing interest in wine. But perhaps more importantly, urban wineries respond to a desire for craftsmanship at a local and authentic level.
And that's where Middle Ridge comes in. Our down-to-earth approach to wine and the people who enjoy it inspires all that we do. No wine snobs here, just great award-winning wine made with grapes from some of the finest vineyards in California. Enjoy the photos below of our favorite vineyards, harvest and the winemaking process.
