Meramec Lakes Golf Course has continued to develop under the guidance of expert golf architect Gary Kern. Under his guidance, Meramec Lakes Golf Course has created better conditions, which enhance more strategy, definition and fairness in the holes. These improvements include seven new greens, renovations to older pieces of the course and the additions and revisions of many bunkers.

Players familiar with this Franklin County golf course will also notice that several holes have been rerouted, with the fourth playing tight by a lake, the fifteenth playing across a ravine off a tee, and the seventeenth ending with a new green. Also, fourteen is a new par three across a lake and eighteen is a new par four finishing hole.
