Mission and Purpose:

The Friends of Lurman Woodland Theatre

We, as a committee are dedicated volunteers with a commitment to provide enjoyable, safe, and affordable family entertainment for all. We are also dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Lurman Woodland Theatre, to enable the continued use of this beautiful, outdoor park. In addition, we recognize the community as an integral part of the the ongoing success and vitality of the Summer Concert Program and the Theater.

We will continue to work together with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks, the Catonsville Recreation and Parks Council, the Baltimore County Council, the Baltimore County Board of Education, and the residents of the Catonsville Community. In addition, we will continue to encourage the Business Owners of the community to support our efforts by way of sponsorship and other donations. We will seek out opportunities for Grants to further the development of this mission.

We will strive to include diverse music of every style within our program. We will seek artisans from the Local, Regional and National levels to perform in our program. We will strive to maintain a local representation of performers each season. We will include new and different forms of entertainment, such as theatrics and variety shows to extend the use of the theater.

Every person is welcome. We will not have prejudice towards any performer or visitor to the Lurman Woodland Theatre based on Race, Sex, Creed, Religion, Physical Impairment or Sexual Preference.
