About Us:

Founder farmer Billiam van Roestenberg has been innovating farm practices for sometime now. Purchasing the farm in 1999 with-in a year he started farming and selling produce. In the beginning he was well known for his remarkable colored egg shells and dark yellow egg yolks. Two years later expanding with his apple orchard, goats, sheep and lots of veggies. Learning quickly how to market and sell at farmers markets. Co-founding several farmers markets and co-founding other organizations like the Ulster County Beekeepers Association 8 years ago and sitting on several other boards. Billiam is always striving to help in any way he can.

For almost 6 years he sat on the local Zoning Board of Appeals, trying to preserve farmland and the scenic Hudson River Valley. Billiam also sits on the board of the largest food Pantry in Ulster County, People's Place in Kingston NY. René de Roneque has been on the farm since 2006 and manages all the flowers and veggies. René spent many years in Europe learning the old world ways of growing and farming. He knows a lot about plants and how to cook them in many different ways.

Cultivating community and farmers is his core mission. Farmer Billiam has been on the Ulster County Tourism Advisory Board for three years now where is focuses on Ag-tourism and uses his knowledge and connections to get things done. He knows a lot about 'Agrotourismo', hosting many fundraisers and events on his farm and others. Now, for almost 17 years, he knows a lot about entertaining. In 2014 he hosted his 82nd wedding!

Beyond organic are the practices we use on Liberty View Farm. Very sustainable practices, the farm even uses a 100% electric vehicle! We also firmly believe in paying living wages so everyone that works with us is paid $15-$30 per hour. Apple picking, farm weddings, farmers markets and farm stands keep the Hudson Valley alive and thriving. These cottage industries are very powerful and very green. All for one and one for all!

And remember to 'Eat Healthy and be Happy!'
