About Us:
Every company has their unique story, some choose to share theirs and some choose not to, but this is our story so thank you for reading. My name is David Knuth and I am the head brewer, (only brewer) and founder of Knuth Brewing Company along with my wife Marie. My brewing roots started with a homebrewing kit that my father-in-law bought me for my bachelor party. Brewing became an instant passion of mine, something that I truly enjoyed. The biggest enjoyment I get from brewing is creating something unique from scratch and then sharing it with other people to see if they like it. My brews have never been too crazy or extreme like some other craft beers out there, not that I don't like some of those crazy beers because I do. My focus has always been on creating beer made with the highest quality ingredients, usually only water, barley, hops, and yeast, that all different kinds of people can enjoy drinking.
As I became more of an experienced homebrewer the thought crept into my head about how cool it would be to open up a brewery. That thought really consumed me after a trip to Washington D.C. where I stood on the banks of Mount Vernon where George Washington lived. What was most humbling about that trip is that not only were our founding fathers great leaders, but they were also entrepreneurs who took great risks not only in business, but also in establishing our nation. So after that trip I was armed with a new sense of purpose and started searching for the best way to open a brewery. And after many different thoughts, ideas, and answered prayers my dream is finally becoming a reality.
The name of my brewery is Knuth Brewing Company- "Handcrafted Artisan Beers". The word artisan refers to someone skilled in an applied art, or a craftsperson. Brewing is definitely an art. We may not be making paintings or sculpting a great monument, but we are creating something unique, from scratch, with our own hands for the enjoyment of all who choose to partake. So again I thank you for reading our story and thanks to all of you who have shown such great support for this project. I hope you enjoy the beer!
