Knob and Valley Audubon is a non-profit organization and a local chapter of the National Audubon Society with membership across southern Indiana from Tell City to Madison. This stretch of the Ohio River valley provides a wealth of important habitats including Falls of the Ohio State Park, Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, Charlestown State Park, Clifty Falls State Park, O’Bannon Woods State Park, Clark State Forest, Harrison Crawford State Forest, Hoosier National Forest, Deam Lake, Hardy Lake, Elk Creek Lake, and Blue River. The region not only provides great habitat for wildlife, but it is also home to nearly 300,0000 people. Our members across the region strive to have a positive impact on these habitats by being actively engaged in learning about conservation issues that affect our area and taking part in annual clean sweeps along Silver Creek and the Ohio River. Like the mission of the National Audubon Society, our chapter works to conserve habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity. We believe that our nature education programs, including seasonal guided nature hikes and birdwatching trips, can bring our members closer to nature to explore these habitats. Our website will help you learn about what we have done recently toward fulfilling our mission, learn about upcoming events to take part in, and show you how to become a member.
