The establishment of Kids ‘N Stuff began in April of 2000, when Parker “Tom” Feldpausch agreed to donate an 10,000+ sq ft building to Albion College, with the intent that a children’s museum be established. Albion College is an independent, coeducational, residential, undergraduate college of the liberal arts. Founded in 1835, Albion College was fully authorized by the State legislature to confer a full four-year college degree upon both men and women in 1861. Soon after it was incorporated and an independent board of directors was formed, KNS decided that in order to achieve the identity and status they wished to hold, they would need to seek 501 (c)(3) status, and become an independent non-profit organization. Fortunately, the non-profit status of Albion College has allowed KNS to proceed with their Capital Campaign effort.
Kids 'N' Stuff: An Interactive Experience for Kids (KNS) was incorporated as a Michigan Nonprofit Organization on December 12, 2000. On April 11, 2001 KNS received federal status as a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Corporation. The primary purpose of the corporation is to establish and run the Kids 'N' Stuff: An Interactive Experience for Kids children’s museum.
