Traverse City State Park features a .25 mile of beautiful beach on the Grand Traverse Bay. The park is located 3 miles east of downtown Traverse City. The campground is open year round with heated restrooms.
Activities:
Biking
The 2-mile long TART Trail goes along Three Mile Road from the state park beach on US 31 to South Airport Road. There are lots of other TART Trail extensions easily accessilbe from the park.
The River Outfitters offers bike, paddleboard and canoe rentals in the day-use area.
Fishing: Powerboating and sailboating are popular activities in Traverse BAy. Fishing charters are available in Grand Traverse Bay and anglers can expect to catch their share of salmon, trout and panfish.
Hiking: Along with biking, the TART Trail provides opportunities for walking, cross-country skiing and other trail recreation.
Paddling: The River Outfitters offers bike, paddleboard and canoe rentals in the day-use area.
Swimming: Swimming is allowed along the .25 mile beach on Grand Traverse Bay.
Winter Camping: The campground is open year round and includes heated restrooms.

Facilities
Beach: Campers have access to .25 miles of beatiful state park beach on the Grand Traverse Bay located directly across the street from the campground.
Picnic Area: The day-use area consists of a strip of land bordered by a sugar sand beach to the north and US-31 to the south. A swim area, picnic tables and grills are available to visitors. The parking lot can accommodate 150 vehicles. No beach fires are allowed.
