Kayak-Canoe Float on the Colorado River

Boulder City, NV

Boulder City River Riders is determined to enjoy, protect and preserve the natural wonders of this great land; and to make it accessible to people that would not normally get to see these wonders. We do this by kayak. The Colorado River is inside the National Park, and therefore we must abide by the guidelines set forth by the NPS while upholding our own code of ethics. The National Park Service mission is to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment education, and inspiration of this and for future generations. We at Boulder City River Riders have a strong sense of pride in this canyon and we are committed to the preservation of its beauty and abundant wildlife. The only things we leave behind are foot prints. We take out everything we bring in -- including human waste -- nothing is left behind. We do not use plastic bottles, which are usually discarded after one use. Our company uses only recycled paper products; even our Kayaks are recyclable. We drive clean diesel vans that get 25 MPG, unlike most SUVs that garner a paltry 10 MPG. Our guides pick up trash that others leave behind; we believe it is our job as humans to take care of the land, just as the native Indians believed they were custodians of the land. Our greatest hope is that future generations can enjoy its magnificence.
