Jemison - Carnegie Heritage Hall Museum

200 South Street East
Talladega, AL 35161

256-761-1364

Heritage Hall, located in the heart of Talladega's historic Silk Stocking District, has been open to the public since 1983. Housed in the former Jemison-Carnegie Public Library building originally built in 1908, Heritage Hall is outfitted as a state-of-the-art exhibition space and historical archive. Architecture buffs will appreciate the soaring 18 foot ceilings and classic interior columns of the Beaux Arts Classic style building, as well as the rare freestanding staircase leading down to the intimate, less formal lower galleries.

Heritage Hall mounts seven major shows each year in the Main Galleries, including exhibitions of the works of individual artists, group shows, collected works of college and university arts faculties, plus theme shows of self-taught artists, pottery and folk artists. The Museum also presents an annual summer arts enrichment program for elementary age students called Arts Camp for Kids, as well as a series of art classes throughout the year. Heritage Hall is widely acknowledged as one of the vital cultural assets of East Central Alabama.
