Iowa River Brewing Company

Iowa River Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by Roger and Ellen Brown. After months of building renovations and building the brewing system, the tap room was opened in early 2013. We are a craft brewery focused on producing small batch beers. Roger is the brewmaster and loves to experiment with the grains and yeasts to create unique flavors with the beers.

The brewery and tap room are located at 107 N. 1st Street in Marshalltown, Iowa. In designing the brewery and tap room, we focused on reusing and repurposing materials. For example, the tap room features barn wood from Roger and Ellen's barn on their family acreage, a bar top made from a 100-year old cedar telephone pole, tables handmade from logs and steel from the farm, and a 100-year old railroad tie being used as a footrest at the bar. Most of the furniture are antiques, handmade or repurposed.
