Idol Ridge Winery opened its doors at the end of November 2013, as one of the newest wineries on the East side of Seneca Lake. Sitting up on a ridge, just South of Lodi, it has one of the best panoramic views along the entire coastline of the lake.

This is the second venture into the winery business for the Martin family who started Montezuma Winery in Seneca Falls over 12 years ago. The winery also has a satellite store that was opened in the historic town of Old Forge, NY. It is located in the heart of the Adirondack mountains and open May through October. Additionally, in 2008, they opened Hidden Marsh Distillery. Their handcrafted spirits and liqueurs are made in the small batch, artisan tradition from natural sources.

The focus of wines at Montezuma has always been fruit and honey wines. Idol Ridge Winery is now home to a brand new line of wines using European vinifera grape varieties along with some premium Cornell hybrids.

Co-owner Bill Martin, who runs the business part of the winery, says that Idol Ridge came about because of a new vision he and his family had.
