Owned and operated by the City of High Point, the complex represents one of the nation's first cooperative ventures between municipal government, private enterprise, and the arts. In 1975 the International Home Furnishings Center was awarded the Esquire/BCA "Business in the Arts" award in recognition of its cooperation with the City of High Point.
Constructed in 1975, this center combines contemporary "sculptured" architecture with an interior design dominated by earth tones. The Theatre features an elegant 965 seat auditorium with continental style seating. Other facilities include three large exhibition galleries for meetings, display, or receptions. The center is suited for convention use, as well as functions of the arts, and is available to both professional and amateur groups on a rental basis.
