About Us:
The Hibel Museum of Art was opened in Palm Beach in 1977 with the Clayton and Ethelbelle Bion Craig collection of Edna Hibel paintings (180) and original stone lithographs (200) and personal antiques, paperweights, Asian artifacts and furniture from the Craig household. Shortly afterwards a wonderful collection of Asian snuff bottles was donated by the Caldwell Family. Over the years the Museum received numerous donations of Edna Hibel work, paintings, lithographs, drawings, dolls and sculpture along with many non-Hibel art works. The Museum remained in Palm Beach until 1999 when it was temporarily relocated to Lake Worth, FL until their new facility on the John D. MacArthur Campus of Florida Atlantic University at Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter, FL was completed.. The Edna Hibel Art Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax exempt non profit organization, operates the Hibel Museum of Art through a Board of Trustees.
