For more than 24 years, Henrietta Creek Orchard & Apiary has welcomed many Schools, Students, Universities, College Interns, Researchers, Chefs, Doctors, Professors, Ag-Extensions, 4-H Clubs, Master Gardeners, Jr. Gardeners, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Special Needs Children, Retirement Communities, Bee Associations and multiple other groups & organizations to our small orchard in Roanoke, TX.
A few examples of what is taught and researched at our orchard include: bees, pollination/ pollinators, honey extraction, planting, gardening, composting, earthworms, colored cotton, butterflies, insects, and herbs to name a few. Saving bees and promoting awareness and education are at the top of our list!
Another focus of the orchard is the positive impact that farming on small acreage can have for our habitat, society, education as well as future generations- whether it be awareness or hands on programs.
The principles of agriculture, biology, history and botany are intertwined in the different sustainable agriculture programs that we've been a part of over the last 24 years.
We're proud to have been part of some of Texas's most reputable university programs which have included pollinator/ pollination research as well as contributing to student research, papers and furthering education at all levels.
We welcome universities to team up with us for pollinator loss awareness, on-site research, development, as well as assist in developing tailored programs to each group's needs. Volunteers & College Interns are welcome to team up with us on our farm for onsite research as well as furthering their education.
