Hedgerow Theatre

Mission:

Hedgerow Theatre seeks to connect and enrich the lives of actors and audiences through the shared intimate experiences of a theatre of excellence. A professional regional theatre, Hedgerow serves as a cultural resource for audiences of all ages and for established and emerging artists alike. The Theatre is renowned nationally as well as locally for the excellence of its ensemble approach and the development of generations of theatre artists.

Company

Shaping minds and hearts (for the benefit of live audiences) through shared self-expression, Hedgerow seeks to grow as a resident theatre company, train young theatre professionals and serve as a cultural resource to the region.

Programming

Focused on the pursuit of professional excellence by our resident company, visiting artists, staff and Board members, our programming (chosen from a broad range of genres, from classic to contemporary, both onstage and in class), will be to create highly imaginative theatre that emphasizes expression, problem-solving and ensemble-building -- accessible to a wide audience.

Spaces

To create a feeling of  “play” or “magic” in performance and study, we will strive to invest our energies in an environment that fosters excellence; welcomes imagination; and feeds collaborative expression. By maintaining inviting, practical, and safe spaces for production, education, residence and community activities, we plan to continue upgrades to the historic Hedgerow theatre and Hedgerow school to include rehearsal and performance space.

Connections, Collaborations and Support

In resonance with the roots of theatre as a form of story-telling and group experience and to be in step with the digital age, we will strive to make meaningful connections with patrons, students, alumni, and our community. We will strive to accelerate the growth of a professional staff and a dynamic board, positioned as leaders in the area, deeply committed to filling seats and classes, developing mission-related avenues for increased revenue streams, to securing Hedgerow as an institution with a solid, sustainable business model.
