In 2003, with the help of Corlands, the Township purchased the first of several adjoining parcels that now form the 349-acre Headwaters Conservation Area. This natural area and park was named for the origins of Blackberry Creek situated on the property. The natural areas include prairie and wetland restoration projects, trails for hiking and birdwatching, equestrian trails, and interpretive signage. The recreational improvements consist of a children's playground, fenced dog run, horse stalls, picnic shelter and an observation deck.
