About Us:
Hanover's Fire Department Museum opened it's doors in June 2012, and is located at 241 North Franklin Street.
The museum highlights the evolution of the fire service in the Hanover area and honors those who dedicated their lives to protecting the community.
Former Fire Commission James Roth, who led the drive to create the new museum notes "The fire museum will be a living and evolving museum with new and changing displays as items are received."
The Hanover Fire Department is a combination paid and volunteer department.
It operates with one (1) tower ladder truck, ninety-five (95') feet in height, and four (4) pumpers each capable of pumping 1,000 gallons per minute. The sixteen (16) paid personnel are augmented by two (2) companies of volunteers which provide the following services:
Eagle Fire Company with one (1) air cascade and mobile canteen unit;
Clearview Fire Company with one (1) salvage unit.
All companies and career personnel are housed in two (2) fire stations:
Wirt Park Fire Station, 201 North Franklin Street 637-6671
Clearview Fire Station, 411 North George Street 637-8760
The ambulance service is supplied by Penn Township Emergency Services and is operated by both paid and volunteer personnel and housed at Wirt Park Station.
