Mission Statement

Greensboro Opera is a community-based, not-for-profit opera company in Greensboro, North Carolina that is dedicated to enriching its community with the tradition of grand opera by presenting fully staged professional opera productions of the highest artistic quality throughout the season to an appreciative and loyal audience; to improving Greensboro's cultural opportunities in order to create a more attractive community in which to foster business growth and development; to bringing opera to underserved areas and populations of central North Carolina through collaborative musical productions, as well as other education outreach events; to sustaining its existing ties with community donors, both individual and institutional, while developing methods to attract and retain donors; and to providing opportunities for local, talented, young emerging artists and technicians to participate in professional productions that further their artistic careers.
