Mission:
Golden Performing Arts Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to building self-esteem in young people through the performing arts and to bringing the joy and culture of musical theatre to our community.
About
Golden Performing Arts Center is a non-profit organization that offers children and teens, ages 6-19, the opportunity to experience exhilarating
feelings of success, belonging, pride and accomplishment by working together as a theatre family and presenting a Broadway-style musical production at the LA city-owned Madrid Theatre. Established in Canoga Park in 1985 for the purpose of building self-esteem in young people through the performing arts, Golden PAC has offered Musical Theatre Workshops for children and teens for over 30 years. Each workshop is designed to build confidence, skills, and lasting friendships in an environment of mutual respect, acceptance and encouragement. All enrollees are guaranteed a part regardless of prior training or experience. Workshops are presented in the spring, summer and fall. Each workshop culminates with a professional-quality production of a licensed Broadway musical in which young people play all the roles.
Golden PAC’s staff of experienced professionals strives to provide an unforgettable, positive experience for every participant, and to maintain a warm, nurturing environment wherein shy or withdrawn children blossom and creative and expressive children thrive!
Golden PAC further produces professional musicals, plays and concerts at the Madrid Theatre, utilizing Broadway talent as well as local performers. Children and teens from our youth programs are often given the opportunity to perform in our professional shows, as well as to appear as entertainment at charity and community events.
