A Great Course with Great People,” from Golf Digest, the course offers a challenging 18 hole, Par 72 layout, carved from the surrounding scenic woodlands. The course gently rolls and undulates in and out of the native hardwood and pine forests, with the occasional tee shot blasting out of a narrow shoot. The Bermuda fairways are often severely sloped, which demands accuracy off the tee and spin control. The course plays to a relatively innocuous 6,561 yards from the back golf tees and carries a rating of 71.7
Many of the approach shots are uphill and require solid thinking and yardage adjustment in order hit the perfect golf shot next to the flagstick. The wrong club choice can result in disaster and leave even the most skilled golfer with a challenging 30-yard putt. Nowhere is this more evident than on hole 15, which is Glenwood Country Club's signature par three. The hole is 178 yards and requires golfers to carry their ball across a beautiful blue pond. The green juts out into the water, forming a peninsula. With three sides of the green surrounded by water and large rocks it creates a beautiful landscape while also guarding the front of the hole. While the hole is not particularly long or difficult on the scorecard, choosing the wrong club to hit into this par three can force a golfer to execute a long and winding putt.
