Glendo State Park

Glendo State Park is located in the southeastern part of Wyoming. The reservoir is one of Wyoming’s top walleye fisheries and is known for other water-based recreation. With approximately 12,000 surface acres of water, it gives great opportunity to many different users at the same time. There are six boat launching areas on the park. The park has 21 different camping areas with a total of 568 campsites. Reservations can be made for some of the campsites. There are many picnic shelters to help keep the afternoon sun from beating down on you. Large group shelters are available to reserve for larger gatherings.

Glendo is the home to a newly developed non-motorized trail system. It is slowly becoming a popular destination spot for some of the best mountain biking in Wyoming. There are approximately 45 miles of trails. There are four trailheads at located at Two Moon Campground, the Wetlands Area, the Dam Overlook, and at Sandy Beach Dune Shelter.

3D Archery Range

Glendo State Park has been working with Converse County Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife to design, fund, and create a 3D archery range at Glendo State Park. The archery range consists of two different courses.  A six target static course and a 20 target 3D course.  The 3D course is designed to simulate bowhunting scenarios.

The range opened in August of 2018 .

Due to fluctuating water levels navigational hazards exist in the reservoir and it is your responsibility to know if the area is safe for boating.
Roughly 12,000 surface acres of water for boating.
Boating activities include motorized and non-motorized.

Campsites For RVs

Glendo offers a wide variety of camping opportunities from the pine forests at Two Moon Campground to the beautiful beaches at Sandy Beach. Glendo has a place for everyone who enjoys camping and enjoying the great outdoors.

Glendo State Park has some amazing tent campsites. Technically, you can camp in any campsite in the park with a tent, so you have 568 campsites to choose from when you visit the park.

Fishing

Glendo State Park has an abundance of fishing opportunities.  It is one of the prime walleye fisheries within the state of Wyoming.  It also offers fishing for perch, bass, catfish, crappie and a few other species.

Fishing is excellent anywhere in the park.
It is most popular to fish from a boat, but fishing from shore is just as good.
A Fish Cleaning Station is available from early May to Sept. 30 at Bennett Hill.

Glendo has 14 picnic shelters, 8 of them are reservable for large groups.

Hunting

Hunting is allowed during Wyoming Game and Fish Department regulated hunting seasons north and west of the cattle guard at Waters Point (excluding Bennett Hill Campground) and north of Indian Point Campground. Hunters are required to follow all rules and regulations set forth by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and Wyoming State Parks.

Shelter Point area and Sandy Beach have areas that are no wake zone areas which provide for safer swimming opportunities.

Wildlife Viewing

Glendo State Park offers a great opportunity for wildlife viewing. Mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope, coyotes, turkeys, and a variety of bird species can be seen parkwide.

Glendo offers fairly mild winters that can dampen some of the winter sports.
