Our Mission

It is the mission of the Garrison Player's Arts Center to provide and nurture a Community-based arts environment through opportunities for individual involvement, education, and partnerships with other organizations; focusing on individuals and organizations who are in need of a welcoming, intimate, and affordable venue to express, explore, or experience artistic creativity; so they may enrich and invigorate their lives, and the lives of all those who engage in the Community.

Our Vision

Stewardship

A vital, thriving, and financially independent organization considered the model for rejuvenation of community arts through the power of volunteerism, cooperation, and learning; residing in an intimate and inspiring space, restored and maintained to preserve its historic and ever-growing cultural significance.

Individual Involvement

An environment where experienced and novice artists and performers from all walks of life work together to produce and experience quality theatre, music, and arts of many kinds in a welcoming, enjoyable, and creative environment; where everyone can find opportunities to support the arts using their natural talents and skills in a welcoming and fun community.

Education

A place of learning where children and adults regularly come to learn about theatre, performing arts, and visual arts in a supportive environment and have an opportunity to explore and increase the quality of their artistic expression; where children and adults learn to appreciate the arts and enjoy a better quality of life, becoming life-long participants and supporters of the arts.

Partnership

The Garrison Players Arts Center is a beacon for the arts community, where arts-related community organizations flourish as a result of their access to affordable rehearsal and performing space and their partnership with the Arts Center, leading to a greater variety of arts and increased accessibility to live performing and visual arts in the Greater Dover Area.
