The Frontier Ice Arena is located in the Inland Empire of the majestic Pacific Northwest. Serving Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana, the arena is the talk of the Spokane, Washington and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho areas. Frontier Ice Arena is known for its voluminous opportunities for skating, hockey, curling, parties and hockey tournament play for people of all ages.
The newly constructed Frontier Ice Arena is owned and operated by the Kootenai Youth Recreation Organization (KYRO). Frontier has come a long way since our humble beginnings in 2000. KYRO was formed to save the only ice arena in the Coeur d’Alene area from going out of business. Beginning with an open air structure, KYRO and its dedicated volunteers set out to improve and enclose the initial building.
Frontier Ice Arena is where families grow together with their offerings for the entire family. programs include: Public Skate, Youth Hockey, Adult Hockey, Figure Skating, Learn to Skate Classes, Learn Hockey Classes, Birthday Parties, Group Outings, Curling, Broomball and Sled Hockey.
This NHL sized rink sports 5 locker rooms, concessions for all ages, hosts birthday parties and special group events from the stadium seating surrounding, or perched above the ice.
