Mission
At the Franklin Stage Company, we believe that theatre is a catalyzing force. It brings together a community, made up of audience and artists alike, who gather in the same room at the same time to celebrate the enduring power of stories. It sounds the alarm, too; for us, theatre is a vital warning. It exposes the fallibility of our ideals; it reminds us of the terrible mistakes we have made in the pursuit of our dreams. Our theatre is a living reflection of the human experience in all its confusion and terror. Though the plays we present often reach into the past, we are drawn to those that foreshadow a precarious future.

The company is proud to contribute to the growth of the arts in the Western Catskills of central New York State. Admission to our theatre is always free. The FSC (which offers Equity contracts to performers) seeks the highest standards of artistic excellence, and an ever more diverse audience. Our actors, directors, and creative staff are professionals who come from as far away as Texas and Georgia, Los Angeles, Vancouver, London and Moscow, because they share our vision of theatre.
