Fowlers Hollow State Park

The 104-acre Fowlers Hollow State Park is in a narrow valley created by Fowler Hollow Run.

The park is on the edge of Tuscarora State Forest at the intersection of several multi-use trails. The campground of the park is a good base for adventures into the huge tract of public land.

Hiking at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Fowlers Hollow State Park is a trailhead for a variety of hiking trails within, and connecting to, the extensive trail system in Tuscarora State Forest.

The Tuscarora Trail is nearby.

Be sure to acquire a Tuscarora State Forest public use map before hiking on forest lands.

Picnicking at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Picnic tables and a limited number of grills are available in a wooded setting.

The one picnic pavilion may be reserved up to 11 months in advance for a fee. If unreserved, the picnic pavilion is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stay the Night at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Camping

Rustic sites

Twelve campsites with electric hookups and six walk-in tent sites are available from late March to mid-December.

All campsites have a picnic table and fire ring. Pets are permitted.

There are flush toilets, water spigot, and sanitary dump station, but no showers.

Fishing at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Fowler Hollow Run traverses the park and provides trout fishing. The stream receives a mid-May stocking of brook trout.

Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission regulations and laws apply.

Hunting at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Hunting is permitted in adjacent Tuscarora State Forest. The terrain is moderately hilly to mountainous and favors turkey and deer.

Firearms Safety
Use extreme caution with firearms at all times. Other visitors use the park during hunting seasons.

Firearms and archery equipment used for hunting may be uncased and ready for use only in authorized hunting areas during hunting seasons.

In areas not open to hunting or during non-hunting seasons, firearms and archery equipment shall be kept in the owner's vehicle or enclosed trailer. Exceptions include law enforcement officers and individuals with a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms are authorized to carry a firearm concealed on their person while they are within a state park.

Mountain Biking at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Alfarata and Beaston trails, which are extensive trails in Tuscarora State Forest, meet in Fowlers Hollow State Park.

Mountain biking also is permitted on park roads.

Horseback Riding at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Horseback riding is permitted on Alfarata and Beaston trails, which are extensive trails in Tuscarora State Forest that meet in Fowlers Hollow State Park.

Cross-Country Skiing at Fowlers Hollow State Park

There are two miles of designated cross-country skiing trails southwest of the campground. Skiing is permitted in all areas of the park.

Snowmobiling at Fowlers Hollow State Park

Fowlers Hollow State Park has parking and a restroom. The park is a trailhead to the 46-mile trail network in Tuscarora State Forest.
