About Us:

Over the years, farming has been a way of life for the Mansfields. When my dad purchased a neighboring ranch in 1985 and planted orchards and vineyards, he also poured the concrete foundation of what would become Goldbud Farms. What began as a small family farm stand where I grew up working summer and fall as a youth, is now a renowned fruit and wine grape operation known for delivering the freshest, most flavorful produce to many of the nation's exclusive retail, hospitality and restaurant venues. All four of the Mansfield's handprints are stamped in that cement foundation.
 
Our family's interest in wine grapes has grown steadily, thanks to those small blocks my father first planted. He recognized that El Dorado County shared strikingly similar characteristics to certain regions of France's famed Rhone Valley. The flavorful, distinctive wines produced in that region inspired his plantings of some of the lesser-known Rhone varietals on the family property. I have always enjoyed the hands-on labor of farm life, and had a passion for wine, so choosing to study the art of Viticulture and Enology made perfect sense. Reflecting on the story of our family's foundation handprints, often with wine in hand, I look forward to the evolution of this unique family property and growth of Four Fields Wines.
