Mission:
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra serves the community by enriching, educating, and engaging people of all ages through inspired performances of orchestral and chamber music.
Vision:
Our organizational goals focus on our stated mission, particularly to serve the citizens of our community. We know that it is not enough to simply advertise our concerts and expect audiences to come to us. Our relationship with the community is much deeper and more meaningful. The future of our community’s culture and how today’s young people will value the arts depends on arts organizations reaching out to bring enrichment and understanding to all sectors of our community.
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony strives to position itself as an integral part of the community, not simply a peripheral attraction. Every concert, special event and outreach program seeks to find new ways to genuinely engage each listener. From small groups of FMSO musicians performing at area homeless shelters to artistic collaborations with public libraries, we are constantly seeking new ways to bring immediacy, relevance and personal connections to all segments of our community through the shared experience of orchestral music.
