Family Playhouse

Our Mission is to increase youth and family exposure and involvement in Theatre Arts by:

-conducting workshops with culminating performances

- Theatre Academies are held throughout the year for students

-Implementing an arts component in an academic setting.

- Family Playhouse has developed and implemented three district arts-in-education workshops. Free-Expressions (Literature), Science-of-the-Arts (Science) and Arts Countdown (Math). Each curriculum uses acting, music, dance and visual art to enhance the learning process as outlined in the Louisiana Department of Education benchmarks.

-producing musicals, comedies, & dramas for family participation.

- Family Playhouse involves parents in the behind-the-scenes tasks of production in order to build strong family ties. An annual Family Musical Production involves students, parents and adults from the community in a large, full-scale family finale to give the children and parents a chance to be on stage together, it is also a chance for the children to work with local adult artists on stage.
