About Us:
As one of Arizona's most visually spectacular and challenging golf courses, Emerald Canyon is indeed a prized jewel in the desert.
Designed by golf architect, Bill Phillips, Emerald Canyon officially opened in November of 1989 as a nine hole layout. This unique Bermuda grass course, set in and amongst the beauty of desert rocks and ravines on bluffs high above the Colorado River, became a definitive eighteen hole challenge when another nine holes were introduced just one year later.
The course is owned by Arizona's La Paz County and its day-to-day operations are overseen by Steve Benton, Emerald Canyon's Head Professional and General Manager.
Much more than just a stunning and challenging golf experience, several of Emerald Canyon's water hazards are also used as habitat for two endangered local fish species, the Razorback Sucker and Bonytail Chub. Emerald Canyon Golf Course was recently named as Conservationist of the Year by the American Fisheries Society - a partner of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - uniquely adding to its growing reputation as a special and most worthy golf experience.
