Edmond Historical Society And Museum

431 South Boulevard
Edmond, OK 73034

405-340-0078

Mission:

Step through the front door of the Edmond Historical Society Museum and you immediately enter the community's history. The museum is housed in the former Armory of the 179th Infantry, 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard. The historic, native sandstone building was built in 1936 by the WPA.

Our permanent collections are arranged in chronological order from pre-historic prairies to 1888 when Edmond was a coal and water stop for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, through the Run of 1889, the town's expansive growth in the 1900's, through the present.

The Museum is currently undergoing major changes to the entrance exhibits relating to Native American and 89er & Pioneer exhibit areas. These exhibits have been constructed to make history an accesible and fun experience for all generations of museum goers.

Adults are free to browse and read historical information about Edmond's history while Children can enjoy hands on play in our Children's Learning Center.
