The East Side/Mt.Hope YMCA, conveniently located on the corner of Hope Street and Doyle Avenue on the East Side of Providence, serves the community between Blackstone Boulevard, North Main Street, Wickenden Street and the Pawtucket line. Walk into the East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA and you are likely to meet a neighbor, friend or relative. If you don’t know anyone, you soon will feel right at home as we strive to create an atmosphere in which all people are made to feel welcome.
As a proud leader in the national YMCA’s Activate America public-health initiative, our goal is to provide support, education, motivation and encouragement to all in our community who strive to lead healthy lifestyles. To that end, we offer convenient facility hours and a variety of programs. Our and pool and fitness class schedules provide hours of group exercise classes, adult lap swim times and family programs that fit our member's busy lifestyles and diverse needs.
Our Kids Care program offers families the flexibility to come to the Y together. Parents can have time to work out, while one child is in a class and the "little one" plays with other children in a safe supervised activity area. Our 25-yard pool is busy from early morning to late evening with lap swimmers, swim lessons and water exercise.
Certified personal trainers are available to help you achieve your wellness goals, and our excellent group exercise and yoga instructors will help keep you motivated in a variety of classes, ranging from beginner to the hard-core crazies.
Providing Child Care for the children and families of our community is another avenue the YMCA has to help educate and empower families to live healthier lifestyles. The East Side YMCA Child Care Center, located just across Hope Street serves children ages 18 months to 5 years.
As we move forward, we will enhance our role as a leader for health and wellness in our community and engage partners at a local and national level to collectively advance healthy living for all the members of our community.
