Desert Discovery Center

Desert Discovery Center is located at 831 Barstow Road, Barstow CA 92311. We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 11-4pm except holidays. Admission is free! You can reach us @ 760-252-6060.

We are an education facility providing our community with knowledge about the Desert and its inhabitants. We offer workshops and classes for grades kindergarten - high school, and do special programs for individual groups.
These programs are sponsored by the Desert Discovery Center (DDC), which is comprised of a unique partnership between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service, Barstow Unified School District, Barstow Community College, Mojave River Valley Museum, City of Barstow, Main Street Murals, and the Discovery Trails Corporation.

The DDC has various displays regarding the desert as a home to wildlife, wild plants and people of past and present. The center also has access to the out of doors and room for varying activities, experiments and much more. Please visit our store when you visit we have plenty of unique items to please the whole family. Prices range from 25 cents - $25.
