About Us:

Sixty years ago a half dozen dedicated individuals formed a theater group which held its first performance in a church parish hall, and subsequently in the old Civic Center on the site of the present City Library. The theater has evolved from these humble beginnings to its present day facility featuring an impressive plant which seats an audience of 238 people.

The Playhouse is a non-profit cultural and educational organization which is administered by a Board of Governors. The Board hires the professional staff, which includes the Artistic & Design Directors and the Executive Director, who is in charge of administration and sales as well as Box Office personnel. The Theater's policy of hiring professionals who have extensive experience in inspiring and molding promising talent, has served to establish the enduring record it holds as one of the most successful community theaters in the country.
