History:

The Cripple Creek Theatre Company is a professional, non-profit organization dedicated to producing dramatic works of cultural, historical, and political relevance in order to provoke the general public into social action.

The Company began in the Spring of 2006 when its founders, Andrew Kingsley and Andrew Vaught, committed themselves to presenting theatrical works of social importance. Inspired by influences ranging from The Group Theatre, Aristotle, and The Band, the two alumni of Kenyon College moved down to New Orleans and presented their first show, Tennessee Williams' The Kingdom of Earth, in October. Six years into its existence the company has performed over twenty works in various locations around the city. These works have employed large diverese casts which reflect the cultural makeup of New Orleans.

Cripple Creek maintains open auditions with the goal of increasing opportunity and communication between New Orleans artists. The company has grown from two to twelve and has consistently increased its profile and reputation for producing challenging, exciting, and rarely-seen work in New Orleans.
