About Us:
Cove Island Park has it all including developed recreation facilities such as a 1-mile loop walking/running trail, children's play area, a roller blade/cycling path and expansive lawn areas for kite-flying. There are two sandy beaches, a small salt marsh, intertidal mudflats and the estuarine embayment's of Holly Pond and the Cove River that provide opportunities for birders to observe water birds. Rocky shoreline areas offer a place for anglers to hook that "big one" and a small bluff offers an excellent viewpoint for those looking for a place view the Sound while strolling along this first-rate shoreline park. Detailed descriptions of the site's coastal resources are provided along the Park's recently completed Long Island Sound interpretive trail. A state-of-the art nature center with displays on Long Island Sound can also be found at the Park. Be sure to consult City's website listed below for required passes/fees to enter park. Non-resident daily and seasonal passes to the Park can now be purchased at the park gate from 10 am to 6 pm daily. Passes can also be purchased at the cashier's office in the Stamford Government Center building, 888 Washington Boulevard, Stamford.
