It started in 2002 with a trip to Walla Walla Community College to sign up for Spanish classes. By the time I got back to the family farm (my husband Craig is a WSU alumnus and 5th generation wheat farmer), I had signed up for a two year Enology and Viticulture program. The dream of an award-winning winery was born. Much to the surprise of my aforementioned family. In the Spring of 2006, Couvillion Winery opened its doors. And I was free to develop my own unique style rooted in the finest French winemaking tradition.
Making wine is more than a passion. It is my life. It totally fulfills me. The choosing of the grapes, the crush, the art and science of fermentation all of it makes my heart sing. That's my story. And this is my winery
The name "Couvillion" (Koo-vee-yon) is French-Canadian. It's also the family name of a dear friend of mine from New Orleans, Dr. Connie O'Neil. I chose the name to honor her memory and her influence on my life.
