History

No local organization has a longer or more colorful history than our own YMCA. The 'Y' organization has its beginning in England in 1851, and our local group started here just twenty-six years later in 1877. The village at that time had only 1,200 residents. That year a group of four God-fearing men, employees of the Sanitarium (San), began meeting for religious devotions. Dr. Henry Foster, hearing of this, fitted up a room in the San for their use and on July 6, 1877 an enlarged group met to formally organize the YMCA branch in Clifton Springs.

Mission Statement

At the Clifton Springs Area YMCA our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that help build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

The Y is a charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families.  The Clifton Springs Area YMCA provides a safe and caring environment, positive role models, creative activities and opportunities to serve the needs of others.
