About Us
In no uncertain terms, Christopher Wheat states "Art is my life, for as long as I can remember I have been an artist." Born and raised in Canandaigua, NY on the north end of Canandaigua Lake, Christopher's passion and gift of art became evident at a very young age. Through his high school and college years, he began taking on commissions for local businesses and private collectors, and never looked back.
For over 17years now Christopher has been hard at work painting and making his living as an artist. His paintings display a crisp and defined look that brings each image to life. In addition to his collection of Canandaigua and Finger Lakes Paintings - scene's, Christopher also focuses on the New England coast. He has completed works of many popular New England landscapes and seascapes, as well as worked with private collectors to create custom portraits.
Christopher states, "sometimes the only way to get the painting you really want is to have an artist paint it for you." On a commissioned basis, he paints such subjects as Home portraits, Cottage portraits, Seascapes, Landscapes and the occasional pet. Christopher's love of the coast and passion for painting marine art has taken him to Nantucket, Newport, RI, Martha's Vineyard and up the coast of Maine to work on his painting.
