Chester Little Theatre

Chester, SC 29706

About:

It was known to open as early as 1913 as the Dreamland Theatre. In the late-1920’s or early-1930’s it was owned by Joseph Walters who changed the name to the City Theatre. Sometime in 1935 Fred Powell bought the City Theatre, in 1937 he built a new theatre and named the City Theatre the Powell Theatre. I don’t know the time frame but it later became the Chester Little Theatre for live performances.
