About Us:

Borderland Vineyard is located on Fall Line Farm, 66 acres of fields, streams, and woodlands that Janet Kalb and her husband George fell in love with in 1946. Through the years the farm was home to the extended Kalb family Janet and George and their children Kurt, Karen, and Rob and George's parents John and Marie. There were once over 70 sheep on the property as well as an assortment of other pets and farm animals dogs, cats, chickens, geese, and even a steer named Junior.

In 2006 Kurt Kalb began reclaiming the farm's fields from the invasion of honeysuckle, autumn olive, multiflora rose, and Canada thistle. And in 2008, in partnership with his sister Karen Kalb Anderson and with the help of family, friends, and neighbors, he planted Borderland Vineyard's first vines. Additional vines have been planted each year since. The vineyard currently includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and some experimental rows of Malbec and Syrah.
