Boothe Memorial Park and Museum

5800 Main St
Stratford, CT 06614

203-385-4052

Boothe Memorial Park & Museum sits on an idyllic, 32 acre site in the north end of Stratford, which was the estate of the Boothe family for many generations. The Boothe Homestead (c. 1840 and remodeled in 1914), is said to be "the oldest homestead in America", since it was built on the foundation of the 1663 house, and continuously occupied. In the 1900's, two brothers, David Beach Boothe and Stephen Nicholas Boothe, initiated a building and collection program, resulting in the present-day Boothe Memorial Park & Museum that was willed to the town of Stratford in 1949. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of Interior.

In addition to the Boothe Homestead, the Park contains the following key architecturally unique buildings and attractions: Summer Cottage Genealogy Library, Carriage House, Americana Museum, Miniature Lighthouse, Clocktower Museum, Trolley Station, Blacksmith Shop, Putney Chapel, Redwood Building, Miniature Windmill, Coliseum, Basilica, Ice House, Merritt Parkway Toll Booth Plaza, award-winning Rose/Wedding Garden, Bird Aviary, Organ House, Children's Playground, farm animals, Outdoor Concerts, Plays and Great Pumpkin Festival.

The Park grounds are open and free of charge, year round.
