About Us

Bauman Orchards was started in 1929.  We are a family owned business and are currently training our fourth generation.  There are two orchard locations, Bauman Orchards in Rittman and Scenic Ridge Fruit Farm in Jeromesville.  We also have a seasonal farm market, Bauman Orchards Corner Market, located at the corner of State Routes 585 and 57, outside of Rittman.

In the last few years we have added another 56 acres near our Rittman location.  We have already planted over 3,000 more peach trees and another 10,000 apple trees, and we will continue to plant more trees each year.  We now have 260 acres and a total of 48,500 apple trees and 9,200 peach trees.  We also raise pears, plums nectarines, tomatoes, sweet corn and strawberries.  Most all of our trees are irrigated by drip irrigation.  We also have five frost fans to help with spring frost.  Most of the trees are considered dwarf trees and usually come in to production in the third year after planting.  The desired production is to average between 800 to 1000 bushels per acre.
