About Us:

Artistic Director, founded Children's Ballet Theatre in 1993. Children's Ballet Theatre is a pre-professional ballet company comprised of young dancers selected through open auditions each spring. Dancers ranging in age from 10 to 18 represent Summit, Medina, Portage, and Stark counties. The mission of Children's Ballet Theatre is to continue the growth of the classical arts by developing an appreciation for ballet and music through and for our youth.

Children's Ballet Theatre is well-known for productions of the Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood.

Dancers who receive valuable professional training from Ms. Meneer and Children's Ballet Theatre have received scholarships to very elite ballet schools such as the School of American Ballet in New York, Harrid Conservatory, and San Francisco Ballet School. CBT dancers are privileged to study dance at prestigious colleges such as The University of Indiana and The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Several CBT alumni are dancing professionally and are furthering the ballet tradition by teaching at local ballet schools, including the Christine Jones-Meneer School of Dance.
