About Us:
The Altama Museum of Art and History is housed in the stately Brazell House near downtown Vidalia, Georgia. On the National Register of Historic Places, the 1911 building is marked with enormous columns and inviting porches. Inside is an array of 20th century paintings, antique prints, fine furniture, historic costume and an important collection of Staffordshire porcelain. There is also a room dedicated to local Girl Scout history which is maintained by the Sweet Onion Service Unit. This FREE museum is open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm, Sunday from 1-3pm and by appointment. The facility is also available for civic meetings and social events.
